"Car is bought 2009, but engine manufacture year is 2007."
That seems strange. A 2 year separation in the year of the car and the year of the engine.
GM was producing these engines like crazy for placement in various vehicles. Why would a 2 year old engine be installed in a vehicle?
Was the vehicle purchased NEW from an approved dealer?

I know that in some European countries, the year the vehicle is first registered is considered the defacto model year, so conceivably a 2007 HHR could sit around until 2009 and get a "2009" registration.
But I know little of how Bulgarian license plates are issued except that the first two letters indicate the province where the vehicle is registered.
The plate on the Mercedes below indicates that the vehicle is registered in Sofia, because it starts with "CA", I'm not sure of how the remaining digits and letters are assigned.

Take a look at the stickers on the driver door. All that info should be there, if not, you can do some internet research to find the significance of all the digits in your VIN and the barcode on the engine. The HHR is made in Mexico.
The Ecotec engine was originated by Saab and is used in virtually all 4 cylinder GM vehicles made in this century. It is probably the most popular 4 cylinder engine in the world.

If you really want to get technical, the engines we know as Ecotecs were a joint project involving a team of engineers and technicians from Opel's International Technical Development Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, GM Powertrain in Pontiac, Michigan, and Saab in Södertälje, Sweden.
Much of the development work on this project was carried out by Lotus Engineering, Hethel, United Kingdom.
The basic architecture of the Ecotec family dates back to the Opel/Vauxhall
C20XE engine introduced back in 1988.

Hi friends,
We have bad news from the guy who opened engine. The block is cracked. For now there are no other damage. So we are looking for block or engine. It's not problem to be from USA. So I'm open for offers.
