Just wondering. Why would they notice a brake issue when it was there for a CEL/running bad problem?
They said they heard the squealers faintly while driving/moving it around. I knew they were getting close, so it didn't shock me.

Glad it got done! that sucks when they break but as you said 83k with out a hickup isnt a bad deal. And good to know about what parts go out since it gives other ideas on what it could be!
and yeah it would be much faster after paying a shop for that LOL

That's my plan this weekend. Been just waiting until I finished off what is currently on it. Plan to take pics and post everything. Even though I'm upgrading, the procedure is the same for those just replacing, so maybe it will help someone else wanting to tackle this themself.

Those bigger rotors should be a great addition. Plus they look good too.
Kinda like this.

Wow, glad you got that figured out - I'm NEW to the HHR by 4 days. Here is what has happened to mine in 4 days: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/our-new-used-blue-hhr-ls-42934/

I hope to get the bugs worked out, becuase I really really like this cool little car, at the same time I'm not very happy with the experience at all!

Yea, I saw your post and was shocked at what I saw. I hope they get you back in good shape in no time, and that it will treat you well from this point on.

Got her back today - The day thry delivered it to me - on my ware home the cel came on - OnStar diags said cooling system failure. Took it back to them and dropped it off saturday morning. Got it back today - Monday and they flushed the cooling system, changed the thermostat, and the Service Manager supposably went over the entire car himself. So with that said all seems normal for now. It's going to be tough earningy trust with this HHR Just got to give it time to prove it's reliability, and dependability as I read in researching this cool little car. Happy to have her back, and looking forward to some road time.!!!!
