I'll never buy bendix pads again. I ran them on my truck and hated them from day one. Took them off and threw them away after 6 months. Garbage.

But that's another story.

Oddly enough ( maybe not) the rotors on my 06 Impala SS were warped too. The SS version of the Impala has the same brakes as the standard model. GM just does not do brake rotors right.

Here's what this site has for a 2008 Malibu.

Here are some good Video's for Brake problems and how to service properly.

http://www.raybestos.com/wps/portal/raybestos

Click on the training tab check out the different features they have. The link on Rotor Systems has great animation on what happens and how it happens.

If you get time watch the others as there is some info here many good mechanics should follow and don't.

I know it is not Wiki but Raybestos is a reliable name in the industry.

Also I put a call into EBC today and asked what pads they recomend. On the HHR they only recomend the red Ceramic pads. They have found the material on the green can embed on the rotor giving the rotor shake. Also the red pad will give less brake dust for those with aluminum wheels.

I had pulsating brakes, mostly between 22-26 MPH. The steering column would rattle, too. I went to NAPA and got the best rotors available for $130 a pair, part #880382.
It took a 19mm to remove the tires, which I also rotated front-rear. A 15mm removed the caliper, and I had the rotors changed in about 30 minutes, the easiest rotor change I have even done. 44K miles on the HHR.
I scrubbed the pads before installation, and carefully torqued everything to 100 ft/lbs in sequence.
My brakes are as good as new, no pulsating at all, and the steering column is quiet. Problem solved, hopefully for good.

I scrubbed the pads before installation? Not sure what you mean here.

You are to bed or burnish them into the rotors after install.

They are easy to change.

Since this thread is now completely ruined would a mod please close it. It's obvious some are never going to provide the requested information and just keep blabbing.
