What next?

My 3 week old HHR has electrical problems. Last week it was the airbag sensor (shorted sensor diagnostic module), this week it's the brake lights (which may be related to the repairs from last week, but they don't know where the problem is). Am I doomed to continually fighting a blown this or that module, or can I have a happy normal car after this is fixed?

I've heard horror stories about electrical problems and I really hope I don't have to go through that. What are the odds this car being OK from now on? Or, should I start talking to the dealer about buying it back. I'm really starting to get bummed out.

It sounds as though it needs to be taken to a place that deals with just electrical issues.

We have a place like that here in TN. Dealers around here use them too.

George is back today after another 3 day visit. They went through the long list of options to test everything related to the brake lights and found nothing wrong. The last option was to replace the BCM, which they did, and that fixed it. It apparently shorted out sometime during or after them replacing the SDM module last week. (I wonder what those 2 things cost to replace?)

I was halfway hoping they couldn't find the problem and have to buy it back. The red LT they had on the lot looked awfully nice!

Anyways, it's good to have my new ride back. Wish me luck that it holds together from now on. And thanks for letting me vent on this here forum.

Thanks, I figured they weren't cheap, and that's without labor? Lord knows how long they spent working on this. The guys did a good job putting everything back together. They even washed it this time. :)

BTW, ChevyMgr, you wouldn't happen to work at a certain dealership in Garland?
