Cool

Thx Deb! Check it out, I found out Advance Auto Parts has the Lisle GM 2.2L Oil Filter Socket for $7.18, they don't stock it in-store but they can get it there next day for zero shipping cost.

I was at the store earlier and they were pointing me to the regular sockets, said they didn't have anything GM Ecotec specific. When I got home I pulled up their web site and did a search, then once I found it I called the store and gave them the p/n. They then found it in their system and said they can get it the next day.

I don't change my own oil...I let the dealer do it. They only charge me $6.00 for the filter and $14.00 for labor which isn't too bad. Then I don't have to deal with it myself and Smoke gets checked out each time it's done too. I do supply my own oil as they don't have Mobil 1 synthetic like I use there at the dealership.

Glad to hear you have found everything you need. From what I understand, it's a snap to change the oil on an HHR.

Thumbs up

Ah yes... but for me, time spent underneath my car(s) is therapeutic. I likes it.

1 1/4" or 32mm six sided socket works fine.

Used the 1 1/4 socket today to change my oil...bought it for 4 bucks or so at Auto Zone. Don't forget the extension....5 or 6" will work....1/2 inch rachet also...SO EASY with this car.....!!!!!
