Will not crank.

I have a 2006 2.4l with 140000 pluse miles 8000 miles ago I replaced the head the pistons and rings oil pump water pump timing chain and all Related parts new spark plugs both vvt silinods map sensor. Catalytic converter both o2 sensors thermostat all hoses belt and tensioner both cam shaft sensors and crankshaf sensors.

I had some issues after doing all this but worked it all out and car has been running great. But the other night took it on the hyway it got to speed no issues set cruse control about 3 miles in to drive started to go up a hill at about 8% grade up. I have taken this car over this hill 100 times no problems. Well this night as start this climb the car seem to stumble as it shifted down a gear. So knowing this has never happen before I took it off of cruise control and the car stalled.

Shifted car into neutral. I tried to restart the car and everything went out my lights the dash the radio my brake lights. Coasted to side of road an parked it. Shifted into park turn key off then back on a everything came back on. Tried to start the car heard a loud click and everything went dead.

Return the key to run position every thing still out turn key off then back to run position everything comes back on try to start the car the same thing happens...

Checked battery its good. Checked all grounds they are good check battery terminals nice and tight no crosion. All fuses are good battery has 12.3 volts. Will be checking starter and to make sure the motor turns over by hand tomorrow. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything else I should be looking for or at?

Thank you in advance for the help

12.3 volts in the battery is considered low.

It’s happened before, your battery is low , should be 12.4 volts or higher. If you get it running , have the battery and alternator tested at your local parts palace. Also, with all the work done , double check the battery cable from the underhood fuse box to the starter. Make sure it’s clean and tight.

Yes the recall has been done on the ignition. Ok i will put charger back on the battery see if i can get it any higher. It was on a trickle charger for 15 hours and when I put volt meter on it it said 12.3 went had it tested they said it was good put volt meter on it after Reinstall and it read 12.3. I will charge it again. Would charging it at 15 amps be better than 3 smps?

It will only charge as much as it charges, what are the amperes readings, did you have it load tested or just the multi meter reading of 12.3
volts , in start up that number will dip considerably

Charging at 15 amps will charge the battery faster than 3 amps.
Looking at the amp gauge of the charger the needle/number should start to go down as the battery is being charged.
After 15 hours I would think it really should be higher than 12.3 volts, more like 13.8/14.2 and the amps should be very low.
Hooking a volt meter up and watching how much it drops as you turn the key to start can tell you starter draw.
A good battery should not go below 11.8 volts.
Do you know how old the battery is ? Sorry if I missed that info if given before.

The battery is 4 years old. But found out the problem . The motor is locked up. That's why it stalled going down the road im guessing . There was no bang there was no noise what so ever when the car stalled. But I can't turn it over by hand at all with or with out the spark plugs. I just don't know where to go from here.
My battery charger told me it was at 12.3 now its saying 13.2.

I’ve sent you a PM in response to yours. A Boroscope camera would help inspect for piston damage if the timing chain skipped and the valves kissed the pistons, these are very close interference engines.

Or pull the valve cover and look at the timing chain.

I can't think of anything else that would lock the engine up. Seized alternator or AC compressor, the engine would keep turning, and burn the belt to breaking. Auto trans, the torque converter would allow the engine to turn.

Manual transmission, there may be something. Like broken cables AND something wrong with the clutch. Wouldn't stall the engine unless you were braking hard, you would have noticed that.
