Window Defrost

Window Defrost
Anyone else have a problem with the front window defrosting completely from one side to the other? We received some snow the other day and then it warmed up and then snowed a little again. Window defrosted fine except about 2 inches on each side. Unfortunately the vents are centered and do not extend to the edges of the window.

I noticed a similar thing except on mine it doesn't defrost about 4 inches along the passenger side of the windshield. I expect "they" messed up on the design of the windshield defrost vents. They could have put a little bit more powerful blower motor in there as well... just my opinion.

hmm thats weird..i have a 2008 and in Canada we know winter! my defrost works like a charm! and its incredibly fast...just today from our freezing rain storm, had about 3-4 inch thick ice on my whole car, defrost took like 2 mins and all crumbled off the windshield and was good to go

Since they didn't change the design, my 2008 LT has the same problem and on the highway (when I drive a little faster...) the snow hits, melts a little and freezes back up and really trashes the wipers with ice! Glad I'm moving south next month... this design is dangerous to me.
The defroster's primary task is to defrost the INSIDE of the windows, removing the moisture, and it aids in removing the outside ice when you first warm up the car.
The defroster is not designed to remove the ice on the outside while you are driving at highway speeds, and definitely not designed to keep the base of the windshield clear of ice - ie: where the hood hangs over the wiper cowling

x3 or is that 4 ? on the Cabin filter.
Also very cold ambient air temps and high speed make the metal that much colder and through heat transfer to the glass the outer edges will be where the condensation will want to collect.

When I pick up the wifey I noticed the same when the doors get opened and wifey gets in the car on a cold day. It goes away in a short time.
Its all about the humidity of the air in the car and the outside temps
