Windshield wiper rubbing on the hood when wiper is up.
#11
What are we talking about here, is it when you pull the wiper away from the windsheild with your hand, or is it during normal operation?
When I pull the wiper away to clean it, yes it can contact the hood. I chipped it the first time, but have been careful not to do it again.

when you pull the wiper away from the hood by hand.
Mine was chipped, and yesterday was the first day I had them up, so I don't think I did it.
And none the less, it shouldn't make contact with the hood for any reason, it's just stupid by design. They have pretty strong springs (or whatever gives them tension) in there, just seems like no matter what it's going to slam in to there eventually then.

This is a common problem. Check out this thread ... https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ighlight=wiper around posts #10-17 explains how to adjust.

thanks for the link. I need to see when my wife can go in to the dealer either tomorrow or thursday. I see they talk about adjusting it in the link, and it sounds easy, but i don't want to touch it. I want the dealer to see it, and i want them to fix the paint that is already chipped right there, since i don't really want paint chipped off after 2 weeks....

i called the dealership and my wife is taking it in thursday for them to look at and see what they want to do about it.
I looked for the alignment marks on the window and my wipers are about 1/4 "- 1/2" below them. I pushed it up to where they should be, and then slowly lifted it up and it cleared the hood just fine.
So we'll see what they say, they said they'll most likely be sending it to the body shop to get it fixed up. Sucks sending my baby to the body shop after 2 weeks. I really don't want to send it in, who knows how it will come back. I would just leave it but the paint is already chipped away, i don't want it to get worse.

I had to move the blade assy so that it was just over an inch above the mark to stop it from hitting the hood. Before it was like twisterman's 1/4-1/2 below.
Wiper use to catch the pass. side wiper when lifted to clean windshield.

i hope everyone can get it fixed if they have damage from it. if you gotta be a hardass with the dealer, do it, it'll be worth it. I'm just glad i caught it early, and all because an egg fell out of a tree on to my car, off way to find out about it, but i guess good in the end...
