Had the same thing on mine. I noticed it right away and brought it to the dealer and had him clock the wiper up a notch on the shaft it goes on. End of problem.

There is no spline. It is only a friction fit on a tapered cone. Tighten the nut and it tightens on the cone wherever it is located.

I had to adjust mine on the drivers side as well...I have a slight rub mark and even adjusting it to the mark where it should be it still will touch if I pop the wipers up without being careful....also keep an eye on the plastic covering of the bolts...they pop off pretty easy after you initially take them off and put them back on...one of mine broke and the other was floating around on my hood in the wiper gully

Lot of play in the wiper arms so even after adjusting you still may make some contact with the hood

Agreed, stupid flawed design

Oh, I stand corrected, thanks GCarp, I must have had a flashback to the 70's. lol. Anyway, I told the dealer the problem and they put it up a bit and now, no more problem. They treat me well there.

Update on this.

Had the car to the dealer today. My wife had to take it since i was at work and she had the afternoon off. She said they took a look at it and went off and took care of it They touched it up pretty good, since it was chipped in pretty far already. I can tell where the mark was, but it looks good and basically looks like a small imperfection in the hood now.

Had them move the wipers up too, they set them about an inch above the registration marks, but they don't touch the hood anymore.

I have to take them off anyways. I Know i still have egg from the one that hit my window down under the wiper cowl, and from what i can see the only way to get it off is to take the wipers off. Is there a trick to get the little plastic cap off, i don't want to break it?

Thanks all.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the flashback. I was surprised there was no spline too.

Nope, no trick - just pops off.

Mine did the same thing but no chip. Startled me the first time I lifted the wiper to clean the window. Just pop the cap off and loosen the nut but not completely off, now grab the arm and rock it a little till wiper moves, then set so it looks level and then tighten the nut and pop the cap back on. Should take about 2 minutes.
