Wont shift into second fourth and reverse

I just got my first oil change on a 2010 hhr ss with a manual transmission and now the windows dont work and my car wont shift into 2nd, 4th, and reverse. the people at valvoline claim its not them, any ideas before i bring it to the dealership?

I've heard of quick lube places draining the transmission instead of the engine oil. Check your engine oil to see if it's over full. I suppose they could have disturbed the fusebox to cause the window problem.

Take it to the dealer to get it fixed and if they find it was caused by the people who changed the oil, make them pay and never go back there.

Thanks Don, that's my plan. I'll post the outcome when i visit the dealer. IN the meantime if anyone else has had or heard of someone having this issue please post because I'm miserable! I love this car!

I think Valvoline screwed up. It's going to be on them.

Finally got it back!!!!

I think those guys Valvoline didn't understand the concept of shifting gears, turns out that the linkage that controls the engagement of 2nd, fourth, and reverse popped off from the shifter and had to be reseated. They probably tried to shift into reverse or something and didn't lift the collar, anyways I learned my lesson. The weird thing is the window controls shorted out and had to be replaced and I cant see how the clowns at Valvoline could have been responsible for that, the planets must have been aligned in "**** You" mode that day. All is good though, thanks for the input guys, this site is very helpful.
