Question Wood Dash Kit

Hi all. I am a newbie with my 2007 HHR and so far, I love it. Although I have had it about a week or so, I've starting doing things to it. I put the window visors on and got the front windows tinted to match the others. I am looking at installing a wooddash kit but I have a question. The kit shows to have a piece to go around the shifter BUT, how is the knob removed to get the piece over the shaft? It is an automatic. I am thinking about Japanese Cherry or Rosewood yet the Cherry would look great with the Sport Red paint. Any ideas or input?

Robert

You do not need to remove it. There is enough room for it to go on over the shifter.
Welcome and enjoy.

I Have It On Mine, You Don't Have To Do Anything With The Knob,it Fits Right Over The Area With No Promblem.

Any pictures with your kit installed? Which kit did you use? Is one better than another? I've seen several vendors with prices ranging from $110 and up depending on how many pieces are used. I'm 53 years old and to me, I feel like a kid with a new toy to play with. Thanks for your patience.
