Times as posted in the February 2006 Car & Driver. The test HHR had a 2.4 and 5-speed manual.
0-60 mph : 8.0 seconds
0-90 mph : 17.4 seconds
1/4 mile : 16.1 seconds @ 87 mph
Rolling 5-60 mph: 8.9 seconds
The top speed is 126

They usually do, because from a dead stop everything hooks up much quicker, and from a rolling start an automatic has to go through the gyrations of kick down and that takes time. With a manual, rolling at 5 MPH usually means your in second gear and at that speed second gear will want to bog the engine. You can do it in first gear but be prepared to shift into second very quickly after you launch because your already rolling and engine RPM is already building.

After sorting through all the expert / amateur opinions in this thread, I've scientifically concluded why SoCal's HHR is soooo fast....
It's the stubby antenna, folks!! Gotta be worth a full second or more on the 1/4 mi. and at least 15 MPH trap speed!! :)
So... I ordered one of the previously guarded speed-secret antennas!!
