Sunday afternoon[today], decided to take a cruise up a local extremly curvy two lane road in the hills, not far from my house. 12 miles of very tight, mostly 20mph turns ,with elevation changes, a real roller coaster ride. One thing lead to another, so pulled over and dialed up coilovers to my autocross setup, and stared doing some turns, at almost the limit. Up at the park, turnoff, for a smoke, ran into eight much yourger sport bike riders taking a break. They came over checked out the SS, and said we heard you comning.
They took off, and I crawed back in and stared doing turns again, really pushing it. I actually caught up with them, then they stared gassing it up. I hung onto the last guy for a couple of miles, then turned around, and headed back. At the park, stopped for another smoke, and the bikers pulled in, now really intrested. survey says, they were really imprested with me keeping up with them, and last guys said "I thought you were going to run up my rear a few times'. That thing is hella quick".
Being a ole sport biker myself, I was amased, that I could even keep them in sight. guess the ole SS, is even quicker than I think.
I did have some front tire rub, on a few of the really hard corners. Seventy one, and the fire still burns. "Moon"

Moon, are you running stock offset on those wheels? Got to thinking about tire track last night and came up with about an inch total increase in wheel track going to a 42mm offset..now I know what 1 inch can do on the track so was thinking if you did?

Sounds like fun Moon, at least you are picking on some one who should have a chance, if they are brave enough....
I have 5/16 spacers on the SS with the stock wheels adds 5/8 to the track width, not sure you would want to push them any farther out, they are close to the fender now.

I'm running MSR 045's, with a 255/40/18 tire, and the tack is just barely inside the fenders. At 23" from btm of rim to fender, I still got some tire rub on wheelwells. Major noise, and hot rubber smell, on some of the really hard turns. Botich really handles tho.
Took some Google Earth pics. of the road, so might put them up. I have been using this road to test handling, ect. for many years. It pushes you to the limit, of how big your sack really is. "Moon"
