Still time to join the fun. We have 24 HHR's registered to attend this event and a couple who are still in the decision mode. Not too late to attend this great event. We've got some fun activities planned...like two 100 mile runs on the famous Route 66 with stops along the way to visit some of the great places along the way. Here's a couple things we'll be check out on those runs.

A section one lane wide 9 ft, was paved in the early 20's, money was tight so they paved the entire distance, but at half the normal width!!!

Here is a pic of the road and a pic of a friends HHR in the middle for comparison of the width. This is the part in Narcissa, OK.

This place has 500 different flavors of pop/soda.

This is also going to be a great place to visit and definitely a cool photo op.

The infamous Red Barn in Arcadia.

FYI, I had sincerely planned on going, but I have had something come up where I will be out of state during the event. Which sort of sucks, considering I live a few miles from Route 66 and only 90 miles from Tulsa! Hopefully you guys will organize another one in the future and I'll be able to attend.

Only a few more days now. I'm leaving Denver on Thursday morning headed for Tulsa. If you're in the area, please feel free to drop by the LaQuinta South in Tulsa. Would love to meet anyone who will be in the area.

Taking tons of pics and videos and will share as time allows.

Headed to Tulsa via Cleveland, OH

We are offically now on our way to Kicks on Route 66 after having a GREAT weekend at the Cedar Point II event in Sandusky, OH.

We stayed last night in Hammond, IN and got up early this morning and headed downtown Chicago. Parked both the cars (at a cost of $19 each!!!) and found the "End of Route 66" sign on Jackson street! Also got some awesome pictures of the "Buckingham Palace" fountain just off Lake Shore Drive.

We have just stopped for the evening in Lincoln, IL

We tried to see the Route 66 museum in Joliet, IL, but it is only open until noon on Monday's and we didn't even try to leave downtown Chicago until 10:30! And we got to stop in Bolingbrook and have lunch with our 2 daughters and our 2 gandsons!

Then we wanted to stop at a couple of refurbished gas stations along the way......they both closed at 3 and we were there at 5 and 5:30. Story of my life I guess. Going to try to download the pictures we took today to share. And tomorrow, well, we'll see where the road takes us! We have until Thursday to get to Tulsa.
