Seriously--4.30?! Kris knows we are just up the street from the fairgrounds and at that time, it shouldn't take us more then 15-20 minutes to get there.

I think that is a little early...do you think leaving my house *by* 5.30 would be better? You all know the time and whatever better then me, so you tell me and I'll set the timer on the coffee pot...I was going to make breakfast burritos, but ya know, I rarely get to bed before 11-midnight now since I'm up doing homework, that I would rather sleep in!

I am confused about the parking thing. Didnt we all register as a club? Dont they designate parking? If there is a line up, we still get to park together I would think?

Call it corny, but I think it would be look awesome to have the group arrive at the fairgrounds en masse

Not corny at all D, that's the way a club is supposed to arrive anyways. My point is if there are thousands of participants, getting there by say 6:30 shouldnt matter as long as we get to park together. All the same, whatever yous all decide is fine with me. Let's nail down a time to LEAVE Angie's house.

Also, is someone going to bring a pop up shade chingas? We will need one!

I LOVE when we are all together--With Tim leading! Where do we file in? On Fair or Fairview Ave., or the back entrance across from OCC? Once we know this, we can figure things out better.

I don't have a pop-up cingas--so if someone has one (or two) yes, please bring it! I'd be willing to pitch in to get one/two for future use...and maybe have SoCAL HHR's put on it. Something to talk about!

I think we went in on the west side of the fair grounds across from OCC. I have a pop up to bring, and it might even say SoCal HHRs on it too!

I went to the swap-meet a couple of Saturday's ago and saw a little car show going on and folks were going in on that side entrance across OCC. So I'm thinking it should be this side too as the other main entrance on Fair Ave. is for the swap meet.

Cool on the pop-up, Tim!
(how is Suzi doing and are Betty and Baby liking her?)

Oh yeah, for those just wanting to go to this, in the new issue of SoCal AAA magazine, there is a small piece on this event--if you show your AAA card, you can get a discount on admission.

Okay, experience speaking here:

WHAT TO BRING:

Please don't forget to bring your pop up canopy, chairs, ice chest with water and sandwiches, suntan lotion, camera and most important... YOUR PAPERWORK for the show. Go get it now and slide it into the back of your front seat NOW!!! So that you will not forget it. Don't forget cash if you're going to buy raffle tickets or go to the flea market.

PARKING:

YES, we did register as a club, but that was to see if we had enough cars to be considered for an award class. I don't know about that, tho..

They do not designate parking. You have to arrive as a group, and pull in together. Oh sure, they may give you an extra spot, but why risk it?
TIMING:

I still think 5:30 is best but will go with the group.

Getting there later means you may be out in the back 40 farther away from restrooms, food stands, & admin areas, not to mention the incredible indoor displays of upper crust vehicles. Also, there is a grassy area, way off to one side, but it's usually the last place people visit. It was also very muddy there last year.

ENTRANCE: We want to enter on Arlington Road, from Fairfiew Dr., preferably coming from the South, so it will be a right turn onto Arlington. This is the only way to ensure some yahoo doesn't cut us off when the light turns.

I will lead if Tim doesn't want to. Remember, this is a huge show and we need to be a bit organized about it.
The rest of the year we can afford to be more ragtag .

Thank you Angie for your offer of a meet-up place. We'll shock the early birds on your block!
