Just Drive

So, Who just likes to go for a drive!

I mean it. Just hop in and go for the fun of it. Pick a direction and go?
It has been a long time since I did anything like that, at least this car would give me decent mileage...

MEMEMEME!!!!

I look for ANY reason to get in Blackie, pop open the sunroof, turn on the Nano and go...

I even purposely take PCH to Long Beach State (longer drive from UCI) rather then the parking lot known as the 405...life is good!

(sorry Don )

The wife and I love road trips. HHR or Chevelle....doesn't matter which.

Up the mountain or down the beach hwy. Did this for 2 hours, near sunset last Sunday in the Chevelle. Drove down the coast after supper. Windows down, stereo playin the oldies.

Before the fuel prices went way up, I did up and drive.... over 7,200 miles worth. California to Florida to Chicago then criss-cross back home back in Dec of '06.

I Drive...myself crazy

In my younger days, when gas was <$1.00/gal. I used to get the urge to do a lap around the county. It didn't matter what time of the day. I'd grab a bunch of cassette tapes for the cruise and head north on the 101 slip over to the 78 east, South on I15 to I805, west on Palm Ave (near the border), then North on I5 to home.

When I used to have my Firebird, the fun thing was to drive the Ortega Highway to Lake Elsinore.

I still get a blast doing road trips, which is one of the reasons I like driving up to the OC for these G2Gs ( that and the pleasure of see you all) .

A confession (Charles, Cheri and couple others know this): I had every intention of going to Fall G2G @ Tom's Farm in '07. Right after work I headed up the 15, but I was enjoying the drive so much I wound up going to Vegas. When I got there, I turned around and drove back to San Diego

I had done it 2005 but in my VW Bus and went to Texas.

I can't do the trips anymore with the current cost of fuel.

I try to do this when I'm home, but target a location to get to .

Cruise nights and stuff Friday and Saturday if I can . It's my enjoyment . I don't golf, play tennis, drink or crap like that, so a 50-100 mile cruise is the answer. Heck it's still cheaper then a round of golf.

This Saturday I'll take the hotrod down to the Mooneyes open house in Norwalk, then up to Van Nuys to Slot Car race and after that off to our G2G Drive in movie with the HHR.

Even at $4.50 a gallon it's cheaper then an hour or two with a shrink,
although there are some that say I need that too
