SoCal HHRs San Diego G2G 4/26/09

Angie, I worry more about his psyche, and probably for no reason! I can leave him in the bathroom with all the comforts of home and the "puppy pad"... but don't want to do it very often. I want to save this for emergencies. I can just see the confused look on his face when he cries and no one comes.
Sorry - crosstalk ---- Daryll, all - apologies.

Cheri, they get used to it--seriously. Paquita was horribly abused, abandoned and all but starved (she was 3 lbs when I got her). She got attached to me instantly and we worked through her abandonment issues. I got her used to me being gone--first outside a few minutes where she could hear or see me, etc. Don't let Zeph run your life. :)
Believe me I feel tremendous guilt being gone for days/weeks--but a good pet sitter (yeah Toni!) assuages those concerns.

When are we doing an HHR-g2g-pet-play-date at that little dog park by Tim's?!
OK, Happy Easter all--going to enjoy another dreaded sunny day in the OC
D--drive safe and good luck--I'm a better friend then Todd if you win big!

What dog park near Tim's --- WHEN? --- I'll be there with bells on - heck, I'll even wear a collar!
Okay, this weekend is off for us...so sorry. We are dealing with something called "cherry eye" and it may or may not need surgery based on today's vet visit. He needs to be watched as it pops in and out, and the surgery is based on what happens when.
I'm going to LEAVE this thread - so you can talk about cars again!!

I'll wear Max's studded black leather collar--but will leave the harness at home.
Tim says there is a little dog park near AJ's.
Hope Zeph gets better & am still tentatively looking at going to this g2g.
And D, hope you won big and/or made it home ok!

Hey Lauren, in case you haven't learned already, this is the post (thanks Al!) that describes us to a "T":
I, for one, love watching the progression of a simple G2G with this clan.
It is fun to watch a G2G suggestion dissolve into chaos, emerge into a plan,
dissolve again, wander away into other topics, and then re-emerge
several times.... generally with over 100 posts.
BUT...It does finally solidify into a meeting that is always fun, and the envy
of the site....
Thanks to all of you wonderful folks...
Cajun / Al
I don't think I can make this one either--final papers due and no time but the weekends to write them
Hey Don, I want to see those mods!
