Talking And now a word from SD Tourism Bureau

I added more detail regarding the cruise by breaking the route into several map segments (will be handed out the day of the event)

Agenda and route sections remain the same.

1) 4.26.09/10-11AM Meetup @ UTC Sears Auto
2) 1st Leg - Leave UTC @ 11AMish loop around to Mount Soledad Photo op
3) 2nd Leg - Leave Soledad whenever for Great Moon Buffet.
4) Optional post lunch jaunt to Mission Bay Hilton for another photo op

I got so excited that I changed the route on the 1st leg of the cruise (UTC to Mount Soledad) from:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...3&ie=UTF8&z=13

To Version 2 which added a loop (more beach scenery) + 30 minutes & 10 miles to the first part, If you think it's too much (or has Daryl gone off the deep end?) we can go with the shorter route (1st map link):

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.219727&z=12

2nd Leg - After the photo op at Soledad it's a cruise down PB and Lunch @ Great Moon Buffet

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...1&ie=UTF8&z=13

Then finally if people are still up for another photo op it's a short hop from there to Mission Bay by the Hilton:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.109863&z=13

Note whether you choose to go home home or continue on to Mission Bay, it's a straight shot to the 5 in either case.

I now also have a pair of GMRS/FRS 2-ways for the Cruise. Also, if you anticipate problems (ie getting lost etc ) PM me in advance so I can provide you w/my cell number.

WOW, Tim, that was a great advert for the G2G/Cruise!! I never would have thought of that. Yes, I'll be there Sunday.

Did you feel our little mini-earthquake? It was a nice rolling little ride.

DARYL!!!! Wow I'll be printing maps this afternoon. You are really doing this up great. I'm so glad it wasn't last weekend. See you soon.

Cheri,

FYI - I printed me 15 copies each of each cruise segment so no need to print

Just realized what you meant by pitstops . The first leg UTC to Soledad is only 16 mi./1hr at the most (there may be a portajohn at Soledad otherwise it's the bushes for the gents). The next real WCs (waterclosets) will be at the Buffet.

For the out of towners:You might want to get it done at the Alyso creek rest stop once you get past San Onofre, then getting the job done again at Sears or the next door ice rink when you first arrive at UTC. Sorry, Ladies and gents, I overlooked that part
