They told me that "if we soilder it....the connection could become brittle and break". Have any of you guys had ANY problems with yours being soildered? I really hope they remove all of the crap a** connectors and soilder it all together.....

By "NO" boost I assume you mean less than 5 psi. No boost would be very bad. You are in what's call Limp Home Mode. Mine was not caused by bad crimps though but the lower TMAP hitting the AC compressor. That is what SSfan's bracket fixed. When the problem first occurred I noticed that disconnecting the upper TMAP then reconnecting seemed to fix it. Temporary fix at best. Then I soldered it. Still not fixed. Cut the lower IC hose to pull the lower sensor away from the AC comp and problem solved. Need to work on that clearance still have the occasional issue...

Mine lasted 26,000 miles and about 2 years before the lower BOSCH TMAP sensor went. It was only a few months over the BTB warrantee, but under 36,000, so GM looked into the claim and covered it. The car runs perfect again, as it always has and still has the properly executed and torched crimp connectors that they use for life safety on the air bag systems. I won't break out the soldering iron and weatherproof shrink tubing unless I have to. And I'd do it myself.

I'll have to look at the lower sensor to see if there are any clearance issues. It had no boost at all.....like I said...it would barely go 60 m.p.h....

Also.....what do you mean by cutting the lower IC hose?

The tech was also concerned why the SES light didn't come on....
Should it have come on?

Put the car on jack stands or ramps the lower IC hose goes from the cold side pipe (where the lower TMAP is) to the intercooler. Looks like a big radiator hose. Loosen t-bolt, remove hose from IC, trim enough to pull sensor away from AC comp, reinstall. Or as some have done shim the IC forward.

The SES (CEL?) won't light unless the issue continues for a while. Will also turn itself off when the problem goes away although it will remain in the ECU's memory until cleared.

Easiest way to solder the bottom map sensor is to disconnect two other plugs that are closest to the map sensor. These connection plugs are different sizes/shapes so you cannot plug them back into the wrong spot. And you should be able to pull the wiring loom closer to you. You definetly gonna need a flashlight to see wut ur doing. Only took me about 30 min to do....good luck!

would a VERY loose bottom map sensor cause it to loose power (boost)....then all of the sudden have power (boost)?

IMPORTANT! Did they trim the "tab" off? See instructions.

I'll have to look....
I just know that the 7MM bolt that holds it in was not tight at all and the sensor was very loose....I could wiggle it very very easily. I tightened it up and it seems to have more constant power for sure.
