Er, isn't it HG when it is negative? Yeah, idle will blip a little (for actual A/C), but you'd be able to hear/see it if it actually changed as much as your gauge shows.

I am going what 843de is saying here and
I am going to make a guess here
I am guessing your ac is on and you just do not know it
If you have you have the recirc air on and turn your FAN on the AC is on even if the
little light for the ac is not showing.
I thought there was something wrong with mine when I first realized this was happening then I read the owners manual and it did say that when your select recirc air the ac pump turns on and it also turns on when you selct the air to cirulate to the windshield since it pulls moisture out.
Just a guess

@foxtrotraptor, how are things going with the HHR? Have you been able to find out what is going on yet?

No that's it either. I double checked that when I first noticed it. For sure the AC is not on.

Seems like the fan is taking up more power than it should. Could be the battery.

Not yet and I just 2 warnings on my dash. One that says "service tire sensor" and another for "service passenger air bag" they both went away after I turned off my car for awhile and then started her up again. But either way my oil change is due again so I when I go to the local Chevy dealer here I'll let them know and see what they can find. I don't know what else to do...

Thank you for the additional information. I believe having the tech's look at the vehicle for your concerns when you take it in for the oil change is a great step to take. Please, let me know how things go with this.

I hope you are having a great Sunday.
