Clicking Sound

I have this clicking sound in the front end when I accelerate and when I let go of the gas. The dealership has spent half an hour to figure it out but can't find it. I don't want to spend more $ on another hour or so to try to figure this out. Does anyone else have or heard this problem?

I Actualy have heard the same thing. I bought my 08 SS used with 24K miles last year. I've heard that clicking noise from the first day I bought it and I still hear it now with 36k miles. I do hear it when i accelerate but not when i let go of the gas. I Don't know what it could be, I think maybe it's a part that may be tapping to rubbing up against another part? Perhaps in the engine or maybe the trans? I can't be sure. Ive been wondering if anyone else has heard this noise.

All of our 2.0L Ecotec engines do this, just the way they are. Direct Injection. Our thermostats are very noisey at start up and settle after a while. Hope this helps.

My 2.4 does this as well. It's done it ever since I got it so I know it isn't something that I did to the suspension.

I hear clicking sometimes when it is colder. (Not the engine, sounds like from the front right side) I couldn't find anything wrong. Fixed it by turning up my stereo.

They are Depo Headlights from the US. Enter "hhr headlights" on ebay and you'll find a pair for around $200 with tax and shipping.

Is it just a "click" or a multiple "click". If it's just a click, you should be looking at CV Axles or an inherent click in the trans. Multiple clicking would probably have something to do with the turbo/injection system, which is out of my league.

Have you gotten this fixed? Mine does the exact same thing. I'm thinking it's some spacing issues described in the TSB below, post # 165:
