so the gold lines are lower than the sportlines.....wish I could find just the fronts to buy, probably change the rears for some custom springs any ways.

Guess the only way to get some decent shocks is go big....been trying to avoid the overkill, but my stockers have gone soft already..hell, my LS with GL's ride better thru the corners now, has a real decent ride even with the lesser shocks..guess I'k KYB on that one...It would be easy enough to adapt/ adopt a set for the rear but its the fronts that really need help.

I have gl's (2nd gen.) and factory shocks, have hauled as much in wood, mulch, fishing and boat gear and whatever should be hauled in one of these, anything more you should probably have a real truck, with no issue at all just gotta use your head. Since I have no experience with any other springs I will not bash them but my gl's look great and do everything else as expected. The ss looks great.

The Pedders Xa Coilovers made for the HHR SS and the Cobalt SS are the definitive way to go. They are proprietary and lower the vehicle to any height, but it doesn't change the stiffness/ride quality at varied heights. You can set the stiffness to 35 different settings. The stiffness is also tuned to work in aggressive driving and not bottoming out over speed bumps. They hit a .97 (or more I forget) on the skid pad...a dramatic difference over stock and a staggering number. Combined with a rear sway bar...that'd be a totally different vehicle.

Even if you don't want to change height...this is the way to go. With pedders meeting European standards that are far, far more exact and tight than American and the fact Hennesey (e.g. Viper, Corvette Z06) uses them...which are the most most bad ass vehicles on the planet. They are the way to go. With adjustable mounts ( to do the 35 settings) they are $1450, Otherwise they are 1200, I think. All in one option. Performance and quality unsurpassed. I have called several aftermarket companies and they all hail pedders for the highest quality, much like Hahn.

This is just what my research has shown me...
