Has anyone figured the problems with Stage 1?

Like most of you whom have the GMP Stage 1 upgrade, my car also suffers the complaints. The jerking, boost spiking, loss of boost, and codes for maf, maps, etc......I think it to either be a tuning issue or a map issue. My car ONLY acts up in high humidity, or hot temperatures. It was a PITA last summer/fall, resetting the computer daily to clear codes. Late fall through winter never once gave me an issue. This tells me it cannot be a connector issue, or it would do it all the time. In Louisiana it has warmed up to the 80's and humidity is high, it is acting up again. So has GM admitted to any faults with this system. I'm about to take it to the dealer and have it returned to stock.

Welcome black99lightning! I am leaning to believe the connections are what most have problems with as they are not attached properly.

I would agree. Humidity affects conductivity (resistance is not constant), especially if splices are not sealed properly. Personally, I have had great success with the kit and attribute it in that the procedure was followed to the letter for my particular installation (appx 18k mi & almost 2 years). Some rightfully so complain about the crimps, but the crimps in and of themselves are not the problem; improper tooling and installation methods are suspect of failures. Once moisture gets into these things, it's not like it exits. Moisture simply festers corrosion and eventually the connections fail. Add to that is if the clearance is not maintained between the lower TMAP wiring and the A/C compressor, intermittant contact will impinge the wires as the exit the connector. This is another facet of the installation that was monitored when I had mine done. In my case I still check that there's more than enough clearance at every oil change (more than enough to allow for engine rock under torque load).

Haven't pulled any looms apart to check. I bought it used about 8 months ago, ran fine for the 1st month, then started getting hot outside and problems began. Got cold outside, no problems, now getting hot again, and problems are coming back. I bought it as a DD for the gas mileage. Shelby gets 17-20, and the Lightning on a good day sees 15. But it really is a PITA, so I may trade it off. I've got a very good tech at a dealer where I used to work, I may give him a shot at figuring it out. If it's a MAF problem as that has been the most current code, is that coverered under the GM 5/100K? I'm at 42K miles currently so I'm out of 3/36.
