Heater issues?

Does anyone have issues getting heat? If the car is up to temp, but I'm sitting still, the car blows cold are, once I start moving it goes hot like it should, but when the car stops again, it goes back to blowing cold. WTF? Has anyone ran into this before?

I have not experienced this.
But I tried to reason, and that's what happened.
1. When you stand, you're frozen. Conclusion: The warm air does not enter or enters the cold air.
2. When you're on the move, you're hot. Conclusion: The warm air comes inside the car under the influence of the oncoming stream of air.
Having considered the first point of coming to the conclusion that no air gets inside the car when parked. Not possible to radiator heater did not work in the parking lot and worked in the motion. The air does not go past the heater - duct only one. Conclusion: The air flow is a hindrance.
Solution. Air from the heater meets an obstacle. Can not overcome the obstacle itself. Using an external counter-flow (the car in motion), the air gets more power. Overcome the obstacle.
Treatment: cleaned up "nostrils" on the dust (under the hood near the left edge of the windshield window), replace the cabin filter.
The result obtained will determine your next steps. Hopefully, the proposed measures will be sufficient.

Make sure your antifreeze is not low.

Mine is doing the exact same thing but after running the car for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes it is fine. My mechanic thinks it may be the thermostat but won't know for sure til I bring it in to the shop.

My bro's Equinox is doing this. I told him to check the anti-freeze. I'm listening for more ideas.

I'd really suspect a low coolant situation, it just sounds like what you'd expect from that.

x2 Check the coolant level first. make sure to check the level in the radiator not just the over flow tank. ENGINE TEMP MUST BE COLD BEFORE REMOVING THE RADIATOR CAP.

Wow, glad I came here first. I checked my coolant level and yup it was low. Checked the manual and replaced fluid as suggested and I have heat again.

Thanks guys you saved me a trip to the my mechanic and now I have a few more dollars to put towards tires.

x2 if it was low then the coolant had to go somewhere. need to keep an eye out for leaks.
