Intercooler - stupid newbie question

Am I correct that the intercooler is a liquid system...antifreeze and water? Is it a separate system from the engine cooling system?

If so, has anyone tried to lower IC temps by using a "water-wetter" product?

negative...ours is an air to air system. you could lower your engine temps with water wetter. if you want to lower your ic temps, upgrade the ic

Just to further clarify, that air to liquid intercooler you're possibly thinking of is for the earlier Cobalt SS's which have a supercharger (SS/SC vs SS/TC).
