The fact that you can keep the throttle down and not lose boost in an Auto is why the Saturn Sky turbo auto was quicker 0-60 than the manual - another reason to buy the HHR SS in auto. See Car & Driver's road test:

In my research to buy an HHR SS,everything I read said the 5 spd was quicker.Remember the manual trans. is 260 hp. Auto is 235 hp. The article might have been accurate on the Saturn Sky in 2007, but not for the HHR SS 2008-2010. I'll keep my 5 spd.

The numbers are lower because the auto was "limited down" on power by the "puter" in stock trim.

Thus my answer to "LewiSS' above. He implies that the auto should be quicker but I disagree. In the auto trans. the ecm detunes to 235 hp in 1st and 2nd gear I think. The 5 spd doesn't. This has been discussed many times before and will come up again. Just my opinion.

Hmm, no one's mentioned an auto SS with the GMTU yet though. That alone puts it in the same league as a stock manual SS. All in all it always boils down to the driver, regardless of what type of course you're driving on.
