Oldblue made a sticky awhile ago on the SS ball joint issue. Should help with understanding.

Sorry to revive this thread again but I'm having a problem ordering these LCAs. The part numbers 25930724 and 25930725 don't exist on crateenginedepot.com or any gm parts website I click on. They either say discontinued or not found. However, on rock auto when I do a parts number search for those 2 numbers it only comes up with cast aluminum LCAs but none of them are acdelco or GM genuine. That leads me to believe that GM has discontinued this part and now the only thing that is available is what is on rock auto.
Are these parts on rock auto going to fit my SS? am I missing something here?

Here's the part number search for rock auto that I did.

You will need to install bolt in ball joints, and press in rear bushings.

Those from RockAuto will not fit. Yes these were discontinued by GM quite some time ago. But you're in luck, those ball joints that Oldblue linked to are now an option for us.

I strongly suggest ordering a pair for future installation if you have an SS. They could disappear like the LCA’s if nobody’s buying them

What if I bought the mevotech control arm from this link: https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/ac...trol+arm,10401
because that one has bolts instead of rivets and simply bought the correct ball joint off of ottp and swapped it out. The only difference between these control arms and the proper control arms are that one ball joint correct? I'm not that experienced on working on cars and pressing ball joints and drilling/punching out rivets probably won't go very well.

I would guess that the geometry of the arm is the same, but I would want to be sure.

You’d have to try that, be aware the rear bushing is FE1/3 and not FE5 .
