17 inch tires and wheels.

Hi,

Found it here in the past but cannot find it now.

Question: For a 17 inch 2007 HHR what bolt pattern and offset can be used for new rims?

Question: If I replace the 17 inch rims with something wider than the stock 6 1/2 inch stock wheels, what size tire can I fit in the wheel well without rubbing? Stock suspension.

I found the answers in the past, can someone help me or bump up the correct post?

Thanks ahead of time,

Terry

I have 17 x 7.5 with 235/45/17 all the way around. I believe my offset is 37, but it's been a while so I'm not 100% sure.

Big reason I didn't go with 18's is because I think they make the small rotor s in front and the drums in back look foolish. Way to much empty space behind there. I think a big wheel should have big brakes behind it to compliment the package. Just my opinion, but something else for you to think about.

I have 8" wheels with 255x40x18. fits fine. The offset is 40 on our cars. Haven t really noticed the small brakes. But if that bothers you, you can always switch to brembos...they stop a lot better.

Thanks,

37 mm offset sounds right.

The wheels I have been able to find have a 40mm offset at 7.5" width.

I assume the bolt pattern for all HHR's is the same.

I am leaning towards some tires that are larger but will not require me to change my speedometer calibration, 235/45/17.
But the tires will require a minimum of 7" width versus the maximum stock width of 6.5".

18" I am afraid of the suspension tuning, I drive hard and think the bigger rims will stress the suspension. Is the SS suspension that much different or am I wrong?

overall height will not change with 18's so theres no stress ( dont compare to 20's on an old impala),,your limited to tire size due to strut clearance so speedo cal isnt affected as much as you think..somewheres around a couple tenths .. well inside the min max allowable. If anything the 18's will improve suspension as there is less tire deflection, therefor the suspension is allowed to do all the work instead of the tires flexing all over the place. !8's are fine on this car,,alot a people using them.

FYI, the lug pattern is 5x110, and I think it's the same for all of them.

Hello all! New here and needing some info. Question for SS fan. First off the rims are awesome. Just got a set for my 07. Need to know how thick of a spacer you used to fit those 255's on the front. And if you had to get longer studs? Any help would be appreciated.
