Aluminium rims refinish
I just wanted to share this video, I’m not looking for any view clicking rewards, just wanted to share my experience, refinishing my Colbalt SS rims.
I’m no film studio, I don’t edit (maybe cause I don’t know how)
I’ll post more next time , when I get outside for wet sanding the aluminium alloy rims.

I know, but with the lock down here, I only had the 80 and 180 grit hook and loop paper. I messed up and said 120 but I saw when I took the paper off the sander, it’s 180 grit.
I have had good experiences going from 80 to 180, then on to 320, then 600.
If they look good then I’ll move up to 800,1,000 and 1,500 wet sand , those I have but they are in my headlights polishing kit, at my friends place, I can’t go get it right now because of our stay at home orders.
I will follow up later on in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for watching and adding your experience

Those look pretty good! I had a guy help me on some rashy ones years back, and he used a stone, like a sharpening stone, on the rough spots. That seemed to work pretty good. I had no rubber on mine, and he powdercoated them after. Not sure they were nice enough to polish up. The powder came out great, though.

I just might powder coat the alloy rims after these tires are done , I just had the TPMS installed a year ago, so this might be a temporary thing, I do know that Plastidip or that vinyl wrap spray won’t stand up to road grit and grime , so , that eliminates those coatings
