Catera Wheels

I answered an ad on Craig's list for a set of Catera wheels & 225/55/16 tires for my "Red Toad". for $175. They sent me some pics and I am picking them up on Friday as they are 4 hours away. They have the Bridgestone Potenza tires and about 1000 miles on them. The rims are the the chrome mag type, (I refer to them like an older American Racing Wheel type wheels). My question is there any issues with using them on my 2009 panel? My summer stock wheels/tires are the Firestone Affinity 215/55/16. I found a couple posts where it was mentioned 1/8" spacers were required so they don't rub on the rotors.

I am also not sure if they have the air pressure sensors in them. At $175, I am not going to argue. When I was talking to them on the phone, the woman in the back ground kept telling him: We can come down on the price. But my question is, Where is a good source to get a set of sensors? Are they universal between wheels/cars? A source? With my winter wheels on Malibu rims, I miss the sensors and hate the light on the dash that stays on all the time.

The pictures they sent was over the phone. I plan on test fitting them before I bring them home. The pictures they sent were over the cell phone. I will mount one up and post a couple pictures when I get home.

Thanks, Bear

Catera wheels have the same bolt pattern I believe and the size of it sounds like you should have no problem.

You can check with the dealership, or with like Discount Tire. I believe they stock them.

I picked up the tires yesterday for $150. After a test fit, I will need to get the shims to clear the front caliburs. They are off a 2001 Catera. Is there anyone that has put them on an HHR and installed the air sensors? Thanks, Bear

You can get a set of sensors for about 120 bucks, but have to breakdown and rebalance wheels so that will cost you more than the wheels. Some strategically placed masking tape can take care of that light...

Pics uploaded

OK, I think I've gotten some pictures uploaded to my gallery. A couple of them are the Malibu wheels with studded 225/60/16 and the other two are the Catera wheels with the 225/55/16 tires. I haven't figured out yet how to attach them to a post. When I thought I had it, nada. Only a couple months until this tundra crap is over so I can give the "Red Toad" a real bath and get the noisy studded tires off. Bear

Affinity's

Thanks for the info on dragging pics to post. I will try that. The stock chrome wheels are sitting in the basement with 3 good Affinity 215/55/16 with 7000 miles on them. The 4th has a puncture on the radius deemed to close to the sidewall to repair. If not for the sensors in the stock wheels, I would stick a tube in that tire and run it on the rear. I would ponder moving the sensors from the stock wheels to the Catera wheels if I didn't fear ruining them.
