Ever notice?
I have a 2LT. The car came with Firestone Firehawk GTA P215/50/17 T rated. I just noticed that the tire placard inside attached to the driver's door jamb located near the back door specifies P215/50/17 S rated. This is the first car that I can remember where the placard doesn't match exactly. Anyone notice this?
I know when I looked for replacement tires T rated were hard to find, so I focused on H rated, thinking S rated would adversely affect handling. Perhaps not??
Ended up consulting CR and bought Sumitomos which are W rated. I was a bit apprehensive that this might be overkill, but they are quiet, ride well and tightened up the overall feel of the car--however gas mileage went down 1-2 mpg. Price was right at $500 installed. Happy so far, and will consider again if they do well in the long run.
