HHr Wheel Sensors

I want to change wheels on my'06. It is the wife's car and the wheel sensors are a life saver for me. You all know the drill " Hey a light came on what does it mean? I put gas in but it still stayed on." Anyway I want to keep wheel sensors. Will they swap to the new wheels or should I but new? If new ones are needed should I buy aftermarket or dealer? Dealer says might work on new wheels since they are alloy.I find that hard to believe but anything is possible.

It will not. I believe if you do a search this topic was covered previously. And was resolved as not possible through the OEM electronics.

Different applications and electronics/programming. There are aftermarket applications that may work....with a separate readout gauge.

You may well be able to transfer the stock TPMS sensors to the new wheels. To know for sure, you might consider purchasing a spare sensor, and bring it to your wheel dealer for a test-fit. This way, you'll know before you purchase the wheels, and you won't have to break down your existing stock wheels/tires to get a sensor for this trial purpose.

Maybe I am misreading your intentions.....

Are you saying, you already have a TPM system mounted and operating in a 2006 HHR? If so and it is an OEM system, you will need to advise how this was done. Many "06 owners would like to do this (me included, since TPMS was not available for this year and we were advised this cannot be done).

If it's an aftermarket system....anything can be transferred with some minimal effort.

Another uninformed dealer or possibly an informed one just telling the buyer what he/she wants to hear.

So your saying on the 06, you can see the tire pressure readings on the DIC?
