Hub cap upgrade.
O.K. get it over with and call me cheap. I would like to get some better looking hub caps for my car. I have a 2010 LS. It's light silver, as are the caps. I think chrome would help a lot. Any ideas? Please don't spit on the ground as you read this. Thanks.

Tire Rack has chrome wheel covers for your car. Nobody should give you crap for wanting wheel covers. To each his or her own. Once the car is moving it looks like a wheel. The more of the wheel that is covered will hide the fact that there is a rim under it. I live in upstate NY and run skinny Winterforce tires on steel 15 inch rims with covers for the winter. I like the fat tire look on the shinny rims better, but I like to get through the snow too. Good luck.

15" rims?
A few ideas I like (not all chrome):

Just a few on a quick search through eBay. Page though and find something you like. Just search for hubcaps 15". Over 7,000 results.

I was hoping to find caps that bolt on like OEM. Also I thought there could be a problem with some aftermarket covers on the HHR steel wheel. Mine have a series of round holes all the way around the rim. I read that there is a 5 spoked steel wheel. Was that used on the HHR also?

You can't use the hub caps from the HHRs that have the 5 spoke steelies on our "holy" ones unless you dremel/machine the plastic down. I did it, but unless you are good with a dremel and can get the hubcaps cheap, it would be a PITA. I'll take a picture of the hubcaps from an angle so you can see how much plastic has to be cut away. I didn't use a cutting blade, i had to use a mini drum sander attachment on the dremel and "sand" the plastic away.

If you just want Chrome look and like the stock caps, find someone that does spectra chrome. It is a paint finish that looks like chrome. Mind you it is not cheap but it looks really good. You cannot tell a good spectra chrome peice from chrome......
A lot of customizers are using it for plastic they want chromed.
