Talking I Bought BOYD SMOOTHIE II's (Pics)

I hooked up with Clarke33 who is selling some HHR Accessories in the classifieds here, and I just now Bought and Paid for the Boyd Coddington Smoothie II Wheels(Polished) with Kumho Ecsta ASX 215/50R17 Tires mounted on them. With Lugs and Locks.

Tires only have about 8K miles on them.

Thanks Clarke33!

I am Very HAPPY right now, my stock rims and tires can't come OFF soon enough and will now be my Winter runners.

Thanks.

I will post pics once they are on.

The Price was very good so I Jumped on them even though I wasn't planning on getting rims until next Spring. But like they say, You Snooze, You Loose.

I will check into wider Rears for that staggered look, like I was planning on doing in the spring with the mustang bullitt wheels I was planning on buying then.

Stock Image shows truer color. They should look real Nice on a Black Panel I think.

This is what they look like on one of my cars. I also had the regular Smoothies on another, only difference is the rim steps for tire mounting are further inside so the rim looks flat on the II's. Looks cool but a bear to mount 40 series tires on!.

Glad you bought them. I was looking at them also and contacted Clarke. I however decided that I would rather stick with 16" because the tires just cost about $100 a set more for 17" tires. I just ordered some 16" rims and tires from discount tires direct for mine.

I moved from 17's to 16's for the look and not the cost.... but yeah 17" will cost more. The 16" Euromax I have look more old school on my HHR......

I did almost get these from Clark33 myself when I bought the sway bar, but am glad American&Proud got them..... I almost bought his Panel out from under him So it's like keeping it in the family.

Thanks Greybeard, You know I wanted your 16's but their no longer available in Chrome. For the same reason as you, a Taller sidewall, old school look.

My Panel came with 17's polished alloys so they will be my winter runners.

You will have an Awsome look with the 16's and the taller tires, not sure why you were even thinking of getting these with those Euros. You can always get them rechromed locally if needed.

It seems we have ties that bind and we have never even met. LOL

Soon Hillsdale Soon, they havent even shipped yet. lol
I will need to get those tire pressure things and have them installed.

Nice car Randy, Good looking Wheels too.

voigtsga, Thanks. The price was Very good for these With tires mounted.
8-10,000 miles on the tires leaves Plenty of tread for a couple years for me at least.
And the added cost is minimal for how often you need to buy tires.

I too would have liked 16's, but for the LOOKS only, like Greybeard has set up with a taller sidewall, like tires Should have. IMO.

Greybeard, again surprized you were even looking at these with the wheels you have now.

You know, the Second Clarke contacted me and sent the pic, I called him Immediately, and our Deal was Done and Paid for in about 10 minutes. LOL

At the price he was asking, I am surprized they were still available.

I saw his AD and overlooked them in it at first, then about a week later looked at it again when it popped up again. I Googled Boyd Smoothie II's and decided IF they were still available I could easily live with them on my Panel.

I have all the buffing wheels, balls, and rouges to buff these out like glass.

I have also seen a guys van all lettered up that repairs/refurbs alloy wheels, next time I see that van around I will get the number and have him look at them.
I want a Mirror Polish on them.

I am still gonna check into putting on a wider Smoothie II on the rears for that staggered old school look I like.

Thanks Z-Man.
