A Little Curb Rash

So today on my lunch break I was going a little faster than the posted speed. I see a cop, so I slow down, once I'm passed I look in my rearview to see if he was going to come after me. Next thing I hear a loud noise and the car jerks.

Yeah..... Anyone looking to sell 1 17" wheel? Thankfully this one had a little bit of pitting on it anyways, so if it had to happen, I'm glad it was this rim. Plus the tire didn't get ruined, and it doesn't appear to be leaking so I have some time to get another one.

Bummer

Ouch !!!! There are places that could fix that.

Hopefully your alignment did not suffer.. Does it still drive smooth & straight ?

I'm sure the cop saw me. Probably the same one that saw me hit the brakes in the truck the one day and slide...

Anyways, I didn't notice if the alignment was off or not. I'm thinking if I didn't notice it wasn't too bad. I'll know more tomorrow since I'm driving to the other side of the state. Another reason why I'm glad I didn't ruin anything.... I would be surprised if it'd be less to have it fixed... I scraped off the chrome plating, and it's wore flat on the lip. They look like they're just under $200 on ebay, which sucks because I paid $250 for the set!

No, it's way past clear coat. I was going about 30mph when I hit the curb...took quite a bit off of it. The whole tire and wheel were covered in the dust from it being ground off. The cuts are actually dug into the wheel.
