I have a new 1lt with 16 inch steel rims. I'm looking at putting on a new set of CRAGAR WHEELS 600C S/S SUPER SPORT FWD CHROME size 17x7 and a set of Goodyear Eagles GTII's size 225-60-17. I'm also soon to be installing a set of Cobalt SS rear springs to help level it up. Do you guys think all these things will fit? Appreciate the help, I've read everything I can find on the site but I'm still a bit confused over what will comfortably fit. Thanks

I tried 255 they fit, but over 26" tall gets iffy at the spring seat. Some thing in between will roll on fine. A few members have the eagles and have said good things about them.

Thanks for your help. It sounds like I need to stay closer to a 225-50-17 to keep it under 26". My last set of Eagle GTII's were still going strong after 5 years on a 97 GMC K1500, they were a sweet tire.

225/50/17 is a perfect size tire for a 7" wide rim..

Which Cobalt rear springs are you wanting to use ? SS/SC or SS/TC ?

Sleeper I have not decided on the exact spring as of yet. My only experience is what I've read here and it seems both springs have their fans. What would you suggest? To be honest I'm mostly into it for the look more than performance. Thanks

It depends on the drop & use you would like..

SS/TC lower it: 1-1/8" & good ride & can haul

SS/SC lower it: 1-3/8" & have soft ride..

If you get to needing part #'s I have em for either..

06-07 Cobalt SS/SC rear springs, GM Part # 10390024 (IIRC, 1 1/8" drop)

I took sleepers advice on the TC springs, and they do the Job nicely.
I talked with greybeard, and went with a progressive rear sway bar.
I finish of the new parts with some Goodyear Eagle GT booties.
For a daily driver the gets to work for it's keep, it handles pretty nice.

Well, I ordered the new TP Sensors for the new wheels (going to sell the original set of wheels to a friend with an LS who needs new tires and prefers the LT steel rims). Also a bit of a change in plan came when the same friend told me he had a brand new set of Gold Line leveling springs still in the box never installed for $50. So, I'm going to install the Gold Lines and give them a shot, if they don't work out it'll be an easy enough switch to go with the Cobalt springs. Thanks for everyone's insight and help, this forum makes it too easy.
