I wouldn't use portawalls w/radials.. When I was a kid it was different..Course we didn't have radials back then either.. Horse & buggy days..

The tires Bearman I believe meant were Real WW tires. But as to the WW separating..
I would like to see more info that supports this..

The white walls that work the best are the ones that are molded or "vulcanized" into the tire. American Classic does this and so does Diamond Back. Diamond back will vulcanize white walls on just about any tire. American Classic comes pre-made; according to American Classic, all their tires are made in the USA.

just a sidebar

I just wanted to throw in something about Diamondback. They have a nice family operation just up the road from me and they are a great bunch of people. Bill Chapman has forgotten more about whitewall tires than I'll ever know and their catalog is full of great technical info.

I second the emotion - check 'em out: http://www.dbtires.com/

This week I had the pleasure of speaking with James at Diamond Back. I ordered their 215-60-16 2" whitewalls. (The 215/55-16 also fit per my original post above.) So far the experience has been very positive. I'm glad you personally know the family and can vouch for them. I will post pictures on this forum once the tires are on Car 11.

I believe this wide-whitewall madness is MITZKITY's fault.

You guys know if either of these places can cut a red stripe in these tires. I used to have a set on my 67 GTO back in the day. That may set off a black orred HHR real nice.

Hey Frank6060:

Call Diamond Back and ask them: (888) 922-1642.

Also, go to this site: http://www.widewhitetires.com/americanclassic.html, scroll down to the middle of the page and you will see Red Line Tires.

There's a chart underneath the picture. Here are the two sizes that will fit your HHR (assuming you have 16" rims).

P205/60R16 Red Line Price: $181.00

P215/55R16 Red Line Price: $186.00

Hope this information is helpful!

Funny you should say that!!! When I purchased my HHR Dec 14, 2007, my plan was always to do what she did with the wheels and tires!! I think her HHR is stellar!!

That's it, keep it up guys... I'll be needing WWs' next...

Course 'Red-lines' might look better with my white HHR .. Hmmmmm ?

Question: Are those steel rims 'hub-centric' ?
