Michelin MXV4, I like em

very twitchy in the rain, watch out for puddles and during downpours especially.

I liked them in the dry, and they did fine in light rain, but in a North Carolina "frog strangler".....they gave my HHR a major case of happy feet.
They were replaced by Continentals which were then replaced by Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ's.

I have had 2 sets on my HHR's.
Pro's
1. Run smooth/not soft, and balance well.
2. Very quiet on new blacktop.
3. Handle reasonably well on non SS HHR.
4. Just medium in light snow.
5. Seemed to be wearing good but took them off before I could really judge wear rate.
6. Got as high as 32.4 mpg hiway going over 2 Passes with 2.4L auto.
A non stop 252 mile trip.
Air conditioner on.
Did it again on the second trip.
Drove 55 to 65mph.
Regular 87 octane Costco fuel.
All 4 tires 30psi cold.
Driver and 1 passenger with 60lbs personal stuff.
Cons
1. Unpredictable in heavy rain for quick moves steering or stopping.
2. Only fair at best in wet snow or ice.
3. Very noisy on hiways with studded tire wear/damage.
I would change size to 205/60R/16 if I bought them again which I probably won't.
Looking at Continental and some others if I should decide to take off my new Michelin Ice 3's that I like very much. They are 205/60R/16's and run and handle Great.
Smooth and quiet running on the HHR.

Great Thread, info like this can save us a few $$ :), I have the Firestones that came with my 2011 still on 30k, Not sure if those are factory as I bought it used a few months ago. I should make the summer with them! I have 4 Firestone studded Snows that the dealer installed as part of the deal.
The avg. price on good tires seems to be in the 4/500$ range, so this info will help me a lot Thanks

Aren't you in the rain shadow up there silver fox ?? The gmax03 is my favorite so far, but if you have extra cash coming out your nose. The Michelin pilot sport A/S are very, very sweet, put a set on 08 banshees. He loves them.

Yes I'm in the Rainshadow ... Sequim Approx. 16" annually.
Had to go to Olympia Friday morning and hit snow by driving around Hood Canal. There is a low pass you hit north of hoodsport and it was snowing hard.
It's hard to believe the with Michelin Ice 3 it was a non event.
Here I am, testing and trying to find an all season tire I like when after putting on the M Ice tires I found the qualities I am after,
Smooth,
Quiet,
Balance well,
Handle well,
Softer ride then OE Firestones even though the Ice 3 is an Extra Load tire.
Could be partially because I went to 205/60R/16 size.
I hate to take them off to be honest.
Our temps here in the summer rarely get above 75 degrees and the roads around here are mainly 55 to 60mph speed limits.
I know I could leave them on and have no issues other then they will undoubtedly wear out sooner then regular All Seasons and will loose some of there great performance as they get down below approx. 5/32. tread depth.
I left the Michelin Ice 2's on my Venture Van and never took them off.
Since sold the Van.
