Noisy tires

Noisy tires
I just purchased some really nice tires/wheels from one of our great members and can't wait to submit pictures. However, the tires are really noisy. They are Admiral and have the "gator" type of tread where it pushes the water away.
I had the stock Firestones on my car for 40,000 miles and loved them. While others said they were noisy, mine were very quiet...I put studded winters on this past fall and they were really noisy. Now these new ones seem to be as well.
My question to you - have any of you experienced loud front tires (sure seems to be front, but maybe that's because I'm closer to the front when driving) - or could it be something like a wheel bearing going or a pad dragging?

With a directinal tire on the car you can have "ridges" that start to develop on the outside tread bar. This will cause noise. Run you finger down the outside tread and see if there is a bumpy feeling. If there is that is were your noise is from. Directional tires are good for wet weather conditions "pumping" water out, but since you can't cross rotate them you develop an odd wear pattern.

Do an online search of that model tire and see if other's have said anything about noise. Some tires are just noisy.
I've always just rotated front/rear and never had any symptoms you describe. The directional tread is for dry and wet handling. What you are describing sounds more like inflation or alignment issues, or both.

sounds to me like the tires are cupped. I am having the same issue with Caliber, tire shop told me it was from the shocks. Mine are not directional tread patterns, but are the Firestone Affinities like the ones that came on my HHR.
