ouch. i actually did get an alignment after that mother of all potholes. the stock rim that took the hit is warped slightly, but it's balance-able.
well, another update...
i found minty used rims with tires on kijiji for less than i'd pay for just rims. like jimdaddyo said, it was fun shopping for it, and now i'm looking forward to the spring to see how these "boss model 318" rims look when they're on the car/truck/van/suv/wagon.

boss motorsports has these wheels on their promotional HHR. cool! i'll try and link to it...

(those are 18"s, i guess?... 20"s? not 17"s, anyway)

and, there was a story with the rims. i bought them at a used car dealer. they took them off an hhr that a 50-ish year old lady sold them. she had her winters on the stock (highly polished) rims. the car dealer couldn't figure out why she would want such pimp wheels. then i told them no one sells a steel wheel that size, so if you want/NEED winter tires, you are stuck ("stuck", lol) getting aftermarket rims.
i think there ARE steel wheels that would fit, but they are few and far between.

a list of compatible wheels from other GM cars off the top of my head, now...

cobalt (SS only?)
any more??

i bet when i called the chev dealer, they didn't check for 17" steel wheels for these cars, just the list under "HHR" parts. i bet if they would have checked for some of the other cars that have 17 inch, 5X110 wheels, they might have found some.

chevy mngr, i can feel your pain. i remember crashing up my parents vehicles, back in the day, and i cringe to think of it, now.

Those rims look good !!

although it does look to need wider rubber, if you ever touch a curb, it would be the rim hitting first..Or at least use rubber that has rim-lip protection built into them.

the seventeens have the stock tire on them, so there's more rubber and less rim than in the boss's case. the nice pimp lady that drove around on them for the last summer or two seems to have avoided any curb rash and whatnot.

i did get pretty lucky on the look, eh?

Sorry, Thats Aftermarket. No OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Comes with a dual stamped bolt pattern. 5-112 is German imports. The correct is 17x6.5 5-110 and hubcentric. If its not hubcentric, its not OEM.
