Cons-Moisture barrier , can cause the fenders to rust prematurely.

Too 70's IMO.

Moisture/rust is not a problem. I have them on a '74 Ford P/U since 1980 as well as my 2000 F-350 since new and they do not cause a rust issue, it's just a matter of taste.

I know several people who have the stuff from Race and Street and absolutely love it on their HHR's. Seen it on several colors and it is very sharp looking. Looks great on the 2-tone blue, two black and one sandstone that I have seen so far. It's definitely a matter of taste and I don't believe it's a rust issue either, but the ones I've seen so far look terrific. Much better than the stuff you can buy at auto parts for sure.
