Tire Options
Coming up on 100,000km on my 08 SS and still loving the car. Ive had a stage 1 kit in it since 2009 and it still gives me a good time. Little rust on the doors will be fixed under warranty (usual spots on the inside of the sill) and had a little dustup back in march took it up the rear a little (only $800 damage but still a pain).
In any case I'm due for tires, I still run the stock rims so 225/45 R18's is what I'm looking for. Even though I live in the great white north im looking for strictly summer tires, I have a set of Michelin X-ICE winters so cold weather driving wont leave me wanting.
Ive had a recommendation for Falken FK452's as a good option, I'm looking for something a little grippier then the stock all seasons but that will still give good tread life and wear (I drive around 32,000km a year highway/country road mix).
Any other suggestions for a good tire?

Re
i curious for feedback along the with the Captain on this...
At 55k i need to start looking at new shoes as well - i would be looking for a smoother ride than the factory mich's - i still need grip though living in south florida no snow needs but we get lots o' rain so i'm looking for smooth ride good wet grip - dont care about mileage - interested to see who's running what

Best suggestion I can offer is get somethng w/ a UTOG rating of 200-240. It'll be sticky enough to increase road grid and the tread will last a fair amount of time. Also note you can go as wide as 245/40/18 on the stock rims too so you can get a slightly wider footprint too. Try looking at the choices at Tire Rack, you can see what folks are rating the tire(s) you're considering too.

Just installed a set of Goodyear Eagle GTs and you want to talk about grip Takes a minute to get use to the asymmetrical tread design but so far loving them Nevermind, just reread your post and noticed the summer tire only part

I'm not a fan, but the Kumho KR21 (if offered in that size) comes with an 85,000 mile warranty. Almost anything will be better than a Falken tire though. Cooper also builds a high mileage tire. Rated around 70k miles
