wheel pilot, brake pilot?????
#2
The wheel pilot is the diameter of the wheel's center hole, it is closely related to the hub diameter in that they need to be compatible for the secure mounting of "hub centric" wheels. If the pilot hole diameter is larger than the diameter of the hub you'll need an adapter in order to safely and correctly mount the wheels on the vehicle. See the pics below of an adapter used to mount a wheel with a larger pilot hole.

with the useful info i have now i'm going to get my hands on a set of wheels off of a 2003 volvo s80. the center bore is the same as the hhr. the only difference is the bolt pattern. volvo uses a 5 x108 bolt pattern. i think i can work out this issue with a set of wobble lugs. here is a picture of the rims.
