Will these fit?

Will these fit?
Hey all, I have been looking for a set of wheels for my '06 and came across these about an hour and a half away. He says they are 5x110 and that is about all he knows. He claims he bought them for his car and they didn't fit. (don't know what he drives, he wouldn't tell me) Assuming that they are 5x110's (easy enough to check while looking) does everything else look like they would work? I asked him for backspacing and it didn't sound like he had a clue on how to measure that so I didn't press that issue. He sent these pictures when I asked about back spacing.

I am running 17X7.5" wheels and I wouldn't go any wider.
Those look to be 8".
Backspacing is crucial for fitment as well as center opening.
If the seller would send you the manufactures info you could investigate yourself.
All the info you need to get more info is molded into the wheel on the backside.
Until then I would not buy them.

Those appear to be Dodge Dart rims, they should fit. His angle of the camera doesn’t really give you an accurate view of the back spacing or the bolt pattern.
but the centre cap logo is telling us something.
HHR SS rims are 18” 7.5” with a 5 x 110 mm bolt pattern 35 mm offset. The centre hole is 65.1 mm

Right now I am leaning towards passing, If there is any real concern that they won't fit, then I don't want to take the chance.

Good idea to pass. You don’t need his problems of selling off rims that don’t fit. Don’t worry a nice set of rims will show up, eventually!
Tire Rack shows these as out of stock their website shows code 404

Those look like 17x8 or 17x7.5 and if really 5x110 there’s a pretty good chance they’re a good fit. With a complete look at the center cap and an in-focus shot of the number on the back you should be able to tell exactly what they are. If you can get the seller to lay a stick across the back and measure the depth to the mounting face to can calculate the offset.
They could be bent of rashed.
If you have the patience to deal with a nincompoop maybe you can make a pleasant weekend drive of it with low expectations.
