HHR (Slightly modified) vs. Corvette C4 AT

So I finally got a chance to hook up with one of my buddies who has a '93 Corvette(stock) for a little shoot out on the back roads. Let me start by saying I thought he was going to blow my doors off when he accelerated hard while I was following him out for our showdown, not to mention I quickly looked up the C4 specs beforehand and at 300hp/340tq(lt1) and 3200lbs I thought I was in for it. I was a bit worried about traction as well because it was 42 degrees and I was getting a lot of 2nd gear wheel spin on the way out there, but... Our first pull was a 30 to 100 pull. I gripped enough to pull away and by the top of 3rd I had a car length on him. Next up was a dig to 100. I got smoked off the line and couldn't reel him back in. He put a car length on me. I tried to keep the wheel spin easy off the line but it was just too cold and he was spinnin' good too. The last pull we did was a 50 to 100. This time I started in 3rd and pulled away easily. He was impressed and so am I. He's been in my HHR a few times and wasn't sure if it was any quicker, but it surely is. Throw a blower on your HHR and you can make a contender out of it

Or... a turbo-charger........ kinda fun isn't it ? have you changed the mounts, I found traction there.

Yeah I have TTR Trans and engine mounts now and just replaced the old style control arm bushings with new ones. Just the summer tires with cold weather moving in won't hook up now. I was getting great grip until it started dropping under 50 degrees.

Not the same thing at all but my 84 C4, which if you know 'Vettes, isn't amongst GM finest efforts (205 hp, 4+3 manual trans) and certainly a lesser vehicle than a 93 C4, will pretty much outrun our stock, auto trans 06 LT in any type of contest.

I had the same thing going on, summer compound, when it got to 30 degrees it was no go. These on the other hand don't seem to care what the conditions are.

^^^If I had one like yours, my 'Vette wouldn't touch it. I'd need the GTO.......
